The “E. Clark” at NQ 6.2.165 (August 28, 1880) writes from 3 Burwood Place, the address of the private London hospital where Geraldine Jewsbury died on September 23, 1880 (ODNB). According to Susanne Howe, Geraldine Jewsbury (1935) 191, Jewsbury’s landlady “Mrs. Clark” moved with Jewsbury from London to Sevenoaks in 1872. Jewsbury lived in Burwood Place in March 1880.
